White Mountians, New Hampshire

After leaving New Haven around 10:20pm on Thursday night, Gladriel, Jarrod, Philip and I drove up to Vermont where we crashed at Chelle's for the night. (Sorry Chelle, I realized that I didn't get many pictures of you and your family.) Chelle and Brig were amazing hosts to us the whole trip.

We woke up Friday morning and packed up our stuff to go snow camping. We had decided that we weren't gong to try and build caves as we only had one night to camp so we brought our tents.
We didn't know exactly where we were going to hike so we called a few ranger stations and after a few phone calls we got connected with one we thought would be good. So we plugged the address in the GPS and two hours later we were at the ranger station getting the low down of where we would be able to hike. By that point it was already 2:30 so we didn't have much day light to work with. Turns out we had put ourselves in the best area possible. We were right next to the Presidential Mountain Range and the next day was forecast to be clear. So after buying some maps we hiked in a few miles (not really sure how many), and set up camp. We enjoyed a great Mexican meal thanks to Gladriel and Jarrod having prepared excellent dehydrated food for the trip. The next morning we woke up and rehydrated some pasta that we kept in their insulation pooches, then we headed up Mt. Madison.

The hike was really steep. But luckily we had the best weather in history and we were stripping layers off on top of a Mountain where people usually don't even try to go in the Winter cause the winds and chill are so bad.

We got to the top in good time, enjoyed our pasta there and headed back to break camp. We were able to break camp and make it out just in time for night fall. Chelle had a great meal including camo chocolate bars waiting for us when we got home.

I LOVE A GOOD TRIP!

The Yale Law School

These are the arches above the doors as you enter into The Yale Law School. You'll notice that one arch has a very animated Professor, but all the students are bored. The other has very animated students, but the Professor is bored.

So it used to be that the students would walk through one door and the professors though another.

Although the law school was built in the Victorian Era they built it after a really old architectural style, not sure exactly the technical term for it. But its like a cathedral almost. The wood is all intricately carved and there is stain glass in all the windows. We were lucky cause they were students so they let us in the library, which only students are allowed into.

Pretty impressive place.

New Hampshire

After picking up Jarrod and Gladriel in Times Square, Manhattan, we drove up to New Haven where they took us to the most famous Pizza joint in town. Two huge Pizzas were no match for the three of us. Though I think Philip and I can take most of the credit for not wasting a bit.

Virgina

At the last minute our plans for snow camping were pushed back cause Glad and Jarrod needed another day to get their visas in order for a big trip they will be taking to South America. So as we had an extra day, and Christian (my brother) had sufficiently guilt tripped us about not coming to Virgina while we were on the East Coast, we got a rental car and drove down to Virgina. We went through a ton of states. I must have doubled the amount of states I have been to on that trip! Southern Virgina isn't as close to Vermont as we thought. But we had a fun drive and a great time with Chris and Kenny. Too bad I forgot to take pictures while we were there. Chris bought a sweet house that he and Kenny have done a great job fixing up. They will be getting married in 2 weeks in Oregon!

Boston

Chelle, Brig, Chris, Mike, Philip and I went to Boston Last Sunday. Chelle was our tour guide. She walked us all over town, went up to a tall building and got a tour through the glass of Boston. We spent some time in the markets and walking the streets, then we made the stupid decision of watching Jumper. Don't do it. What a waste of a few hours!

But Boston was great, and the company was fantastic!

This was the Holocaust memorial in Boston. It was really well done. The numbers are the numbers of those who were killed. There were quotes all through out the exhibit which built up as we walked through. Very well done.

Trying out the Macro Feature on the Camera

Ninja Turtles and Princes

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Little Princes. The middle guy is my cute nephew Anders. The other two are his cousins. Cool kids. We spent a good hour getting the best actions shoots possible.

Snow Day!

At the last second I decided I wanted to see what 2 inches of ice would feel like if my face hit the ground first going off a jump. Just so you know, it hurts, just a little. So I tried out the old honey remedy and it seems to be healing up nicely.

Philip's Birthday

We went to Indian Food and Gelato for Philip's Birthday.

Showing off our Matching Icebreakers (thanks mom!)

Reenacting our first date. The exact table we had sat at was open after we finished our meal, so we took the opportunity to snap a few pictures. The owner (turban wearing Seek man) was super excited that we had our first date there, he kept hugging Philip all night, telling him "good job, oh that makes me so happy!" Then he brought us all rice pudding to celebrate Philip's birthday.

We went sledding the night before with some law school friends. The multitude of funny close up pictures are courtesy of Glad, and we just did our best to entertain the camera.
