Visit with Best Buddies

We got to visit with Nikki and Jenn and Dann and their new girl Magnolia. Weston fell in love with Magnolia from the moment he set eyes on her. He couldn't stop hugging her. It was adorable!

Climbing with Janice and the Gang

We went out for a quick climb with Janice and her three kids. It was a blast. The kids did great despite the crazy wind. Janice even got Jade up on the rocks.

Zombie Run, Halloween

Our Cousin Heather Robbins organized a fun run called Zombies and Survivors. They ran around a cool farm out in Tualitin. She did a great job organizing and lots of people came out for what should be the first annual zombie run. Hailey and Shelby did it together too. We had a great time eating Pumpkin donuts and hanging out with family. Weston dressed up as a monkey.

Smith Rock, Monkey Face

Tucker is the champion!

The first time Tucker and I went to Smith Rock together was in 2008 when we first started hanging out. We watched a guy climb Monkey Face from the top of the canyon and we could see how exposed the drop was if he were to fall. It completely sketched me out! I could barely climb the rest of the day. You can see that post here.

In October we went out with the goal to have Tucker climb Monkey face. We went with Maria's sister Sarah, and Tucker's brother Patrick. We got there around 9 am and started climbing around 10 after we waited for one group of two to get up. Then Tucker headed up and placed his trad gear. It was the first time Tucker had used Trad gear on his own so it went a little slow as he made sure each one was secure. Also, having three people climb a 4 pitch takes sometime as all three have to get up one pitch before they can set up to climb the next pitch.

It was getting dark before they started to repel down so Weston and I headed back while they packed up the gear. It was bit of a hike back and it was getting darker with each step. I was going super careful cause I didn't want to slip carrying Weston in the pack. I got back okay, but Patrick who had ran ahead of Tucker and Sarah to try to catch up and help me down took a wrong turn and ended up getting lost. We didn't realize he was lost until we all met close to the parking lot. None of us had flashlights cause we had taken them out of the baby pack for our last camping thing. So Tucker ran up and borrowed a flash light from someone and as he was getting the light Patrick yelled from the top of the cliffs that he was lost. I yelled back that Tucker was coming and to stay where he was. He was pretty relieved to hear that so hung tight. Tucker ran all the way up and made a half hour hike in about 10 minutes. I felt bad cause Patrick was so worried about making me wait cause I hadn't had a meal all day and he was worried I was going to be all pregnant sick. Luckily we had packed plenty of snacks and I was feeling pretty good, so we all went home happy, had a good meal and slept great!

Cute Weston

We got this Sweater in New Zealand and it fits him perfect now. He was so happy when I put it on him for the first time. It was like he knew how good he looked.

This is at Grama and Granda Wallace's house on her beautiful baby grand. Weston will play on the piano any chance he can get.

Big Weekend

We sure had a big weekend. Tucker went to Milwalki and Chicago to take pictures on Thursday night and got in around 1am this morning. I had a law forum for work all day saturday, and when I got home the Wallace family, (Tucker's Mom's family) was a having a big party at the lodge. So I went straight to that and tried to be as social as possible going on little sleep since Weston had not had a good night the night before.

It was really fun to see everyone and I was so sad the Tucker wasn't able to be there to catch up with them all. Shadra and Patrick, Tucker's sister and brother were in town for the weekend so we had fun playing cards with them last night until Tucker got home.

This morning was church so we got up and went and as soon as I walked in the door I started feeling pretty sick, like pregnancy sick, cause I am.

So Grandpa Jerome helped watch out for Weston while Tucker taught his class, and then I got feeling good enough to change his diaper and walk around a bit with him.

He does this thing where he grabs your hand and pushes it in the direction he wants you to go to move something, or show him something. He was fixated on the fire alarm. The alarm had a plastic cover over it and he kept pushing my hand to the alarm. So I was showing him by touching the plastic that there is a plastic cover over it so no one accidentally sets it off. I figured it was probably on there pretty tight so you would have to really mean it if you wanted to open it. Apparently not! I bumped the bottom of it and it popped off!!! No big deal I thought, I'll just put it back. This was a very quick thought though, because not less than a fraction of a second latter, the fire alarm started going off!! Loud throughout the whole building! Everyone started walking out of classrooms into the misty fall day, luckily it had stopped raining for the time being.

I was pretty embarrassed but didn't know how to help, so I took my then freaked out baby outside and covered his ears until they were able to figure out how to turn it off.

Tucker, Weston and I were both done at that point, so we came back to the farm house and Tucker hung out with Patrick and Shadra while Weston and I took a little nap. Then we spent the afternoon singing Karaoke with the Beesley's it was very entertaining.

Shadra and Patrick left to go back to their respective cities around 5 pm so we took our little family home too and laid down for another nap around 6. Weston and Tucker were so out of it, I figured might as well let them sleep, so now I have finished the laundry, dishes, cleaned the kitchen, and finished my little saga on the big weekend.

Oh and Leilani and Rob got sealed this weekend in SLC and although we couldn't be there, I got minute by minute by minute picture updates courtesy of Terri! So in a way I feel like I kinda got to be there. Thank you Terri!

Climbing around Mt. Hood

Today we went rock climbing with some friends. Right away Weston spotted the puddle. This was mostly good, until he wanted to start blowing bubbles in it and accidentally sucked it up his mouth to have it come out his nose!

So then he got to drink some good water out of the camel back. We all traded off climbing. Our friends have a baby who is just three months. It is so crazy how much more busy little bodies get as they get older.

After climbing Weston and Tucker took a dip in the beautiful Sandy. There is a nice swimming hole just behind the climbing area.

We ended the night getting to visit with Patrick before he heads back to College.

Another great Saturday!

Labor Day

We had a good labor day weekend this year. We spent the day chopping wood, getting ready for the winter. Then we drove up to Seattle and met up with Dear friends, Terri, Maria and Jessica. On Monday we drove back to Hillsboro and had a party with the family.

I think Cuong was missing Vietnam when he packed all these kids onto the four wheeler!

Happy Birthday Weston!!!!!

Weston turned one! He had such a fun party, thanks to everyone who came to celebrate with us. He got such fun presents and since we had not gotten him any toys, he was so excited to have gotten so many, and such fun ones!! So many fun cars and trains and shape stuff!

Grampa Jerome set up his PA system and played sing along music for everyone. It was a huge hit!
