New Baby?

It is now June 4th, my Dr. Set due date was May 31st. I have had contractions on and off for about three weeks. Sometimes they get really good, like last Thursday night when I thought for sure I would be in full labor by the morning only to have them stop around 4 am and not start up again since then. I have had little ones off and on, but nothing steady.

I took work off since the Friday before last wanting to be sure I had wrapped up everything so that when it did happen I wasn't leaving loose ends. I still went in everyday, but only for a couple hours as we were focusing on getting the fence built and with the possibility of going into labor any minute I can't really get into any projects. I think it is the limbo period that is the hardest part, that and not being able to sleep cause my whole body aches from being tired of being pregnant.

Now the fence is done. Work is wrapped up, baby is moving like crazy and my tummy can't really stretch much farther. We will see the doctor again today to see what progress has been made. I have this crazy internal struggle going on of wanting the contractions to start good and strong, but also being a little nervous about how things will go once they do. I am really excited to meet this baby and to find out if it is a boy or a girl. I am super excited to have Weston become a big brother, though I am sad that he will not be my baby anymore. With this little one in the belly I can still kinda hold him and cuddle him, but when the baby is out, we will have to come up with some creative maneuvering to make room for both.

Here's to hoping we can move onto the next chapter soon!

Ode To Weston

Weston has these sunglasses in his toy bin. They are his favorite prop. We take turns putting them on and he gets a kick out of it.

HIs favorite breakfast is oat meal, with a far away second of eggs.

He is such a good sleeper as long as he is surrounded by soft blankets.

We like to take walks down to the forest on the farm. If we go too long without a walk, Weston will find the pack and beg us until we take him on a walk.

This was easter. Ya, it's been a while.

Weston's favorite thing to do at Grandpa (bampa) and Nana's house

What a big kid. I think he almost fell off right after this picture.

CC is a great little helper with Weston! He always wants to play with CC and gets super excited whenever he says her name.

Oatmeal again

The camera kinda sucks at the moment. If it were better you'd get a little treat of butt crack in this one. His pants were kinda dragging that day.

We love the house we are in, but have been really nervous because of the proximity to the road. So after lots of talking with the grand Vial Family, we were able to build a fence over the front so Weston can't run into the road. We will have a driveway over the grape field eventually, but for now we just go off road between our driveway and the main driveway. So far it hasn't really helped get this baby out as much as it should be helping!

Weston found this Hat and thought he was so funny when he put it on. He was cracking himself up.

It seems like the only times he stops to pose are when he has hats on or is eating oatmeal.

Happy Anniversary Tucker!!!!!

This year Weston and I had a video made for Tucker and I's 3rd anniversary. Our dear friend Tiffany shot, directed and edited the whole thing. I feel like every family should have one of these!

Ode to my Mom on Mother's Day

It is mothers day, and my mom is, as always, being the best mom and grandma she can be by visiting my sister and her family out in Vermont. They were able to take a fun trip to New York with Chelle's kids just Grandma and Chelle. What a blast! Of course when you have as many kids to watch out for as Mom does, you have to be a good time manager. Since I am having a kid soon, she had to plan her trip to get back in time for when our second baby comes. Also while in VT. she has been doing everything she can for my other sister and her baby boy who ended up getting sick after Mom had left.

As I am typing this Weston is so excited to see a picture of Grandma up and keeps pointing to it and yelling! emagma!

I am so thankful for my mom for so many reasons. I am thankful that she let me be the little kid I wanted to be, even though that meant having to defend my gender to the masses as I insisted on dressing like a boy and playing rough like the boys. I am thankful that she gave me all the comfort and time I required when I was super young so that when I grew up I was able to have the confidence and trust in people I would need to go on endless adventures and have the life changing experiences I was able to have. I am grateful that while I was in high school she informed me in a very loving way that I was being very selfish and she hoped I would grow out of it soon. I am grateful that when I finally got my wish and moved away from home and was off to school in Hawaii, she was there on the other end of the phone to help reassure me that life is hard and stressful when you don't live at home but she had confidence that I would be able to figure it out.

I am grateful that she has always been supportive in letting me figure things out on my own, but when it came to the most important parts of life, she never hesitates to give me the advise and support I need to get through the hardest times.

I am grateful that she had the foresight to know how to get Tucker and I in the same place at the same time so that we could fall in love and the she was always his advocate when I had any doubts. I am grateful that she loves my kid as much as all the other 30 + grandkids and I am always amazed that she seems to have no limit to her desire to be a part of each of their lives. I know it means the world to them, just as having her as a mom means the world to all of us kids.

I love you Mom! We can't wait to have you back here in Oregon!

Update on Life

Well, it is 10:15pm. Weston is asleep, Tucker is playing volleyball and I am thinking the smartest thing for me to do would be go to sleep, but I haven't had a lot of time lately and there are somethings that I don't want to forget about life later. So with that, I'll take a few minutes here to memorialize a few of the best parts of life right now.

Weston learned all about the word no a few weeks ago. He was playing in the bath with his cousin Zuri and he hit her. I said "NO Weston, we don't hit, be gentle" As soon as the word No came out of my mouth I saw a little light go off in his head. He didn't hit her again, but he gave me a glare that I hadn't seen up to that point from him. About a minute later he threw his toy across the room and yelled NO as he glared me down, as if to say, you think your so tough mom! I can say that word TOO! Kenni and I had to stifle the laughter. He's been using it ever sense. The good news is he is starting to balance it out with "yes" and "thank you". He says thank you when he does something where the other person should really be saying thank you to him, as if in anticipation of hearing it.

This morning as we were pulling out of the drive way he said "I see you" That was a cute one!

He is a Momma's boy. He loves playing with Dad, but given the option he will almost always hang out with me. If he is away before I leave in the morning he always says "bye" to Dad hoping that I'll take him with me.

Every night we brush our teeth together, then turn off all the lights in the house. He is getting really good at all the switches. Then we go to his room and put his PJs on. Then we say a short prayer, cause it is hard for a little guy to sit still for very long. I am super proud of him though cause he really does a great job keeping his arms folded and kneeling down till the prayer is over. Then he gives the sweetest hugs and kisses to Tucker and I before he snuggles down in bed. When he really wants to procrastinate he will give us a few hugs and kisses each, walking back and forth between us to lengthen it out.

Weston loves his cousins and talks about them all the time, only he can only say CC's name so he refers to them all as CC.

Weston also loves his Grandmas and Grandpas on both sides and gets so excited when he sees them. The Beesleys came over for dinner on Sunday after a trip to Utah for a week. He saw them through the window before I knew they were here and he started running in circles and dancing with the biggest smile, than grabbed my hand and dragged me to the door where he proceeded to dance some more as they made their way to the door.

Weston and I go to a Mommy and me Gymnastic class for toddlers. Last Saturday he walked all the way across the balance beam by himself and wouldn't let me help him at all. He was pretty excited about it. He hasn't quite learned how to jump on the trampoline yet, but he loves running across it and crashing into the pads at the end of the long one. He is learning summer salts and how to balance on one foot. They have rungs on the wall to teach them how to climb. Most kids go up like two and are done, Weston charges all the way to the top to the point where I can barely reach him if he were to fall and he would go higher if there were more rungs.

He loves trail mix. I keep it for a snack at my office so he is always excited to visit there. That and I let him play with my phone which he thinks is super exciting. I always have to change back my settings when he leaves.

He has learned how to throw a ball pretty well. He takes his shoes off every time he gets in the car. He loves nursery, to the point that if we are in the church building and he doesn't get to go to Nursery he has a breakdown. I get to be a Nursery leader and hang out with him there every Sunday. For the most part I am holding other kids who have a hard time separating from their parents but it is nice to be there when he needs a hug and to see him learning how to interact with his friends and how to sit while he eats his snack. Last week he could not sit still at all. He was literally running from one side of the nursery to the other, back and forth for about 15 minutes straight.

Tucker took us in a canoe ride. There wasn't enough paddles for us to both row, so he put Weston and I in a canoe and he tied the kayak to the front and pulled us up the river. It was really fun except for the being really pregnant trying to keep up with a toddler in a canoe part.
He kept wanting to go to the front which meant that I had to go over a bar, which was not an easy feat.

I'm at week 32, and just started getting heart burn last night. I am excited to have a new baby join our family. Weston is such a blessing and brings so much joy to life, I am not sure how it can get any better.

There is so much more I would say about how much I love my kid, but I don't have the words for it.

Oh one last story. For Valentines day Tucker and I planned to go out that evening. So as I was trying to get my work done to leave in time for our date Tucker went and picked Weston up from day care. When they got back I was still in my office. I heard Tucker say, go give it to Momma, and there came Weston walking into my office using all his strength to hold up the Dozen roses they had bought me. It was the best Valentines moment ever! He was so proud of himself after he brought them all the way to me.

Life is good.

San Fransico Zoo with Tiet and Family

We went and visited Tiet and her family for her son Taylor's baptism. It was a great weekend filled with lots of driving but well worth it. Weston had a blast at the zoo!

Before and After Hair Cuts

Here are my boys before. We talked for a couple months about needing to cut Weston's hair. After about the third person called him a girl I was ready. We were going to take him somewhere but they charged like $25 and we felt like we probably shouldn't pay $25 to have our kid traumatized by a stranger. So I cut both their hair myself.
Tucker's is a little wet still after his shower but you can get the main idea. Weston's cut is pretty cute, definitely makes him look older.

My cute boys

Although Weston is definitely big enough now to not need a bumbo, he has only just realized its wonder the past month. His legs used to be too cubby to fit comfortably into it, but they have slimmed down now and he fits like a glove. He loves sitting in it and having us rock him back so he falls out of it.

This picture was too good to pass up. I love these guys!

Maria's Birthday Weekend

It was so nice to get together with the girls to celebrate Maria's birthday, and mostly just be together and catch up. It is amazing what a difference having a good friends can make in a persons life. I am very grateful for the love and support these girls give even when we can't see each other often.

Children's Museum

For Counsin Jake's birthday we all went and played at the children's museum. Weston loved the life size light bright and the water most of all. He got soaked from head to toes. It was a great day.

Weekend in Ocean Park, WA / Astoria

We had a great weekend Thanks to Tucker's aunt who let us borrow their beach house. The weather was freezing, but the rain let up enough for us to do some fun exploring.

We stopped at a great ice cream place in Long Beach Washington. It was really tasty but I ate way too much. I am now on an Ice Cream Strike to get over the trauma of how sick I felt after for two days.
