Ode to my Mom on Mother's Day

It is mothers day, and my mom is, as always, being the best mom and grandma she can be by visiting my sister and her family out in Vermont. They were able to take a fun trip to New York with Chelle's kids just Grandma and Chelle. What a blast! Of course when you have as many kids to watch out for as Mom does, you have to be a good time manager. Since I am having a kid soon, she had to plan her trip to get back in time for when our second baby comes. Also while in VT. she has been doing everything she can for my other sister and her baby boy who ended up getting sick after Mom had left.

As I am typing this Weston is so excited to see a picture of Grandma up and keeps pointing to it and yelling! emagma!

I am so thankful for my mom for so many reasons. I am thankful that she let me be the little kid I wanted to be, even though that meant having to defend my gender to the masses as I insisted on dressing like a boy and playing rough like the boys. I am thankful that she gave me all the comfort and time I required when I was super young so that when I grew up I was able to have the confidence and trust in people I would need to go on endless adventures and have the life changing experiences I was able to have. I am grateful that while I was in high school she informed me in a very loving way that I was being very selfish and she hoped I would grow out of it soon. I am grateful that when I finally got my wish and moved away from home and was off to school in Hawaii, she was there on the other end of the phone to help reassure me that life is hard and stressful when you don't live at home but she had confidence that I would be able to figure it out.

I am grateful that she has always been supportive in letting me figure things out on my own, but when it came to the most important parts of life, she never hesitates to give me the advise and support I need to get through the hardest times.

I am grateful that she had the foresight to know how to get Tucker and I in the same place at the same time so that we could fall in love and the she was always his advocate when I had any doubts. I am grateful that she loves my kid as much as all the other 30 + grandkids and I am always amazed that she seems to have no limit to her desire to be a part of each of their lives. I know it means the world to them, just as having her as a mom means the world to all of us kids.

I love you Mom! We can't wait to have you back here in Oregon!

It seems like only yesterday I had been reporting about the first couple of schools that were starting to give out buy fortnite weapons eSports scholarships, and everyone was laughing at them. Well, some people still might be laughing, but the practice is considerably more widespread now, and moving to bigger and bigger programs. And today Fortnite has been trapped in the trend, Fortnite Items because of course it has.
