Fishing and Hiking

One of the days we went hiking we found tons of turtles on the logs in the middle of the lake. It was pretty amazing.


Maddie really likes to ride on my shoulders, which is fun, except that she feels like she needs to hold on with her hands, feet, and chin. The chin holding on is really kinda painful as she digs it right into my skull!
We took Maddie, Anders and their friends Jacob and Parly hiking today, they were all quite the goofs.

This was the cutest thing I have seen in nature in a while. These little duckies followed their mom right across the trail and into the water, with the mom quacking all the way to make sure she had them all.
How can you resist this cute face! The pool Anders is using was fashioned out of a good ol' stick, some fishing line we found by the lake and a rock tied to the end.
Today we watched as an older gentleman was fishing. He saw us watching him and asked if we wanted him to real a fish in. So he caught one and let Anders real it in and touch it! Probably the coolest thing that has happend to Anders up to this point in his life. I was almost as excited as he was!

Memorial Day

Maddie was pretty proud of herself for getting up there on her own.
Anders is under the Christmas tree, which has been in this little lot since the Larson clan "planted" it by sticking its trunk in the ground. It is still green!
Brig was pretty satisfied to have made the biggest crepe in crepe history.
Anders didn't talk much this meal, but I am pretty sure he enjoyed being able to have Ice cream for breakfast


This is my beautiful niece Madeline. I am in Vermont this week helping my sister out with her kids, since things aren't going super hot with the one she has cooking in the oven. On Monday we all went to the parade in Windsor Vermont which consisted of a fire truck and an ambulence, followed by the school band and everyone in the highschool, jr. high and elementary school following behind.
After the parade Mike had the brilliant idea of going for breakfast, afterwhich Chelle had an even better idea of making crepes. Between Mike and I's varied crepe experience we were able to come up with some great fillings. We had cream cheese, whip cream, sour cream, and ice cream. We had bannanas, strawberries, and nectarines. Then we had the side of bacon. It was an amazing meal and we spent the rest of the day lounging and talking until 5:30 when we went over to Jordan and Katie's for a BBQ. What a perfect day off!

New old friend

Through some random events I was able to get back in touch with a good friend of mine from my high school days. Since a couple of Sundays ago Tucker and I have been able to spend some fun times together, mastering a random video game, rock climbing and four wheeling. It will be exciting to see what the rest of the summer holds in store.

Mason Jennings Concert

Some of my roomies and I caught a Mason Jennings concert down town SLC at the Paladium. The concert was pretty rocking and super low key as Mason and his bassists were super chill and not at all flashy. I don't think Mason talked once during the whole performance.

myVillagelink goes to Vegas

I went down to Vegas for a weekend to go over a lot of things with Nathaniel, by working partner. These were our positions of choice, yes my back did get pretty sore! I finally moved myself to the other desk in the room, but kept finding myself back on the bed and eventually gave up.

Kathy and I

A coupld of weeks ago I had the chance to visit one of my best friends and greatest professors from BYU-Hawaii, Kathy Ward. She and her husband live up in the Cascades of Washington. I spent one night and a morning with them catching up on the past three years. It was well worth the trip to spend time with such good people in a beautiful setting.

Dogs

The black dog is my dog Lucy, and the lighter dog is Sasha, they are both bitches. Sasha is Kenz's friend's dog. He had to move to Texas for the summer. So for 10 days we get her until she goes somewhere else, don't really know where.

Both Lucy and Sasha are part pit, and their instincts and personalities are super similar, though I am pretty sure Sasha is a bit more dominant.

They fought for the first couple of days, but they seem to be getting along great now!

New Garden

I have been spending a lot of my daytime hours outside working in the yard. I have never had my own garden before, but I figured that since I will be in Utah for a lot of the summer time, this would be a good time to start.

Grandma came over and showed me where to plant the garden.

I cleared and fertilized the spot and this week we will get the rototiller on it

Bring your Dirt, It's Time to Come Clean!

Here are some of my Law school girls and I. This party was dubbed, "the come clean party" or something like that. On all of our dinner dishes Maggie had put Soap. Basically these times are just an excuse to get together and catch up on everyone's love lives and since Deb is the only one married in the group, everyone always has quite a bit to share!
This time we decide that once we all get experienced and ascertain other methods of supporting our lives we are going to open a law firm, basically just so that we can have the funnest place to work, and get to work on the issues we want to.

Festival of Colors

Here we are at the Hare Chrishna Festival of Colors! This was back before finals, but I am just now getting the time to post it.

This is a yearly event put on at the Hare Chrishna Temple in Spring Ville Utah.

Finals

It is Finals time. So I am doing a lot of studying. I have two more test to do. One is a take home that I have been working on for two days. The other I have on Tuesday. So if all goes as planned I will be done with finals by Tuesday morning. That would be grand. Then I will probably be off to Law Vegas to visit with Nathaniel and Felicity and their little man, Asher. It will be strictly business, with a little bit of In and Out burger and maybe some mountain biking thrown in to mix things up.

Cousin Ashley's Words on Hair and Monks

Most Monks of all religions, as well as Nuns of the Buddhist faith, shave their head as a symbol of releasing the vanities of the material life. The fact that the vanity involved in hair is so embedded in the human mind is definitely a factor in these vows. Simplicity means having no hair to be vain about, the Buddhist Monks and Nuns say. The unsaid current is, of course, how powerful and strong and beautiful our hair can make us feel, and how deeply we are attached to it.

Here is a picture of Asheley and her kid Cannon on the right, along with Heatherlee and Miles, and Cheralie and Averi. Three of my favorite cousins. Acutally, I don't really have favorite cousins cause I think they are all fantastic people.

I saw the picture of your hair and figured that's what happened. When people break up, guys go play basketball or drink. Women eat or cut their hair. It's a whole different way of living. :) I could tell that you cared about him deeply, and this seems like a testament to how much you did. But it also makes sense to cut your hair...it's kind of like when Lenny Kravitz broke up with Lisa Bonet, and he cut off his dredlocks. Rastafarians believe that there is energy stored in our hair, and that when there is a big emotional change, that's the time to cut it and start over. Kristen and I were companions for a total of a year, I couldn't have asked for a kinder, more thoughtful person to have been with so long.

Yep, Shaved it

So here's the scoop. Not been feeling to great lately. Philip and I broke up almost 2 weeks ago now. I have never actually broken up with someone who I care so much about. So it has been pretty hard on me.

School is pretty lame at the moment as I am 4 days behind turning in a 30 page paper.
And all excuses aside, I have always wanted to do this, and figured now is a better time than any. Hair grows back, and I really don't feel like I need it right now. So with a little help from my good friend and roommate Jessica, we got er done.

2L Party

Every 2L class has a party to celebrate being half way done with school. Our was pretty hilarious, as is expected from our blast of a class. We had nominations the whole week before, and this was what my class nominated me to. It's good to know I make some sort of impression, even if this might not be the most coveted award for BYU students.

Teach em while they are Young

My Brother Hoa and Sister in Law Thuey went to Vietnam with three of their kids, Lyanne, Vivian and Dillan. They organized with one of the women in their families little town to give rice to the families who needed it most. These shots are of the kids giving out the rice. I was so excited to see these pictures and to know that they are being exposed to harder times and learning how important it is to help where is possible.
